At Thorpe Autos we carry out a thorough inspection of your vehicle to ensure it is in a good roadworthy condition at the time of the test, in compliance with the Ministry Of Transport. All of our MOT testers operate strictly within VOSA testing guidelines. However, where there is clearly MOT tester discretion upon an item of wear or damage, our testers are under absolutely no pressure to fail vehicles and will therefore wherever possible and safe in their opinion to do so, log such items as advisory, but will not constitute a fail at the time of inspection so your vehicle won't fail with us unless it HAS to. We offer a free retest* within 10 working days of the original test date if the vehicle fails*.

Everyone who uses a vehicle on the road is required to keep it in a roadworthy condition at all times. The roadworthiness is checked in the interests of road safety and the environment by the test we call the MOT. The first MOT is required once a car is three years old. (There are different procedures if you use it as a taxi or if it has more than 8 passenger seats). The MOT looks at some important items on your car to see that they meet the key legal minimum requirements at the time of test. You should be aware that the MOT certificate is not a guarantee of the general mechanical condition of a vehicle.
